Talk About a Time When Felt Really Bored

Talk about a time when felt really bored. ( Talk about on Lockdown Due to Covid-19) You should say
When it was?
Who you were with?
What you were doing?
Why you felt bored?

Last year during the peak of the pandemic in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where I was residing. The entire country was in lockdown and curfews were imposed stating when we could leave our house. Our offices were closed as well, and many companies initiate work from home. But since I work in a construction company, I had little to no work to do.

This lead to a very very unproductive and bored 3 weeks of my life where I felt, let’s say useless because I was not doing anything productive with my days. To counter this, I started listing down things I could manage and accomplish at home.

I was in this lockdown with my husband who was going through a similar experience as he is a photographer and he couldn’t work from home either. So we sat down together to figure out what activities and hobbies we could do together and individually.

I started to re-hatch my love for water colouring and created about 5-6 pieces that I could display in my house. I also learn how to cook and bake for the first time since prior to this I would go over to my mother’s place for dinner and meals.

Question 3:- Do people get bored easily? Why?

I think nowadays people do get easily bored because we live in the age of instant gratification. So when contentment is not that instant or convenient we feel bored.

A lot of time doing a job is more of a necessity than it is a fulfilment of ambitions or aspirations. When people do jobs they do not particularly enjoy or like, it is because of dire financial needs.

It already does. As I said we receive instant gratification from technology and social media. This could lead to unhappy lives though as in normal life it is not that easy to receive validation.

I think yes because old people are used to a slow way of life where there isn’t a lot of things going on. Whereas younger people have a hunger for constant entertainment.

Question 10:- Do you think those boring jobs will be done by machines in the future?

Not necessarily boring jobs, but tedious and mundane jobs will yes be done by machines in the future.

Question 11:- Do you think technology today is making people’s life easier

Absolutely, In the short term is it making our lives easier physically. But I cannot say what effect it will have in the long term on human civilization, human culture and our society as a whole.
