Some people think that climate change could have a negative effect on business. Other people think that climate change could create more business opportunities. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
It is the belief of some people that global warming is an obstacle to business growth while others claim that it aids the flourishing of business. In this write-up, I shall be talking from both angles however, I am of opinion that weather change does more harm to the business than the good.
On the one hand, global warming stands as a big threat to operations of buying and selling. Unpredicted circumstances like earthquakes, excess hot weather, earth warming, wildfire and the likes are bad omens not only to business but human beings as well. For example, in the Northern part of my country, the last wildfire that occurred destroyed many farmlands and poultries which resulted in the loss of millions of naira. In addition, there will always be a reduction of employment levels as a result of low income related to atmospheric conditions.
In the other hand, atmospheric conditions have some constructive contributions to business operations despite the negative effects. One of the positive effects is inflation. The aftermath of climate change is scarcity in the market which eventually do end up in an increase in the price of commodities. This in no doubt would maximize the profit despite the hardship on the buyers. Also, change in climate would bring about innovation and the introduction of new products, just to suit the weather. For instance, manufacturing of pullovers where there is the outbreak of unusual cold.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that as much as there are some positive impacts of climate change on business yet, its negative effects on business are weightier which include destruction, unemployment and scarcity.
