Many Doctors Say that People in Today’s World Do Not Do Enough

Many doctors say that people in today’s world do not do enough physical exercise. What do you think are the causes of this? What solutions are there to this problem?

Physical exercise is important to keep a person fit and active, but technology has made us lazy in this modern era. In this tech-savvy world, people don’t do enough physical exercise. With the invention of mobiles, laptops, tablets and other gadgets, our lifestyles have become more sedentary.

Earlier, we used to see a lot of people going for morning walks. Children used to play outside their homes in the evening. But it is a rare sight these days. Technology is a double-edged sword. It has its own pros and cons.

In this competitive world, people are racing against time. In this never-ending race of being on top, people don’t have time for themselves. The stress of work is taking a toll on their health. For example, employees in multinational companies are working their asses off to meet the company’s targets. They spend most of their time sitting at the desk of their office. As a result, obesity is on the rise due to poor eating habits and lack of exercise.

Exercise in any form like brisk walking, yoga, strength training, and others is perfect for physical and mental well-being. It prolongs our life expectancy and also prevents us from a variety of diseases at later stages. So it is essential to make people aware of the benefits of exercise and the harmful effects of a sitting lifestyle.

Parents should encourage their children to play outdoors instead of sitting at home and watching TV, mobiles or laptops. Physical education should be made compulsory in schools. Students should have a mandatory physical training period every day. Technology can also help in bringing about awareness. We can exercise in our homes through various resources on the internet. For example, people who have hectic schedules and can’t go outdoors for exercise can do it at home through the internet. Regular health checkups are also essential.

I want to conclude by saying physical exercise should be inculcated in our daily routine if we live a long and healthy life.
