The charts below show changes in the proportion of energy produced from different resources in a country in 1985 and 2003. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and making comparisons where relevant.


The pie chart illustrates the ratio of energy production from oil, natural gas, coal, nuclear, hydro as well as another renewable in a particular nation in two different years (1985 and 2003) expressed in percentage. Overall it could be seen clearly that all the resources fluctuated during the time period, but oil was most manufactured among them in both years compared to another renewable which was insignificant all through.

Oil was used the most in producing energy in 1985 with slightly over half of the total percentage (52%) followed by nuclear with 22% and natural gas (13%). Resources such as coal, hydro and other renewable though were utilized; however, they were proportionately lesser: 8,4 and 1 per cent respectively.

In 2003, notable fluctuations were observed in the rate at which these products were used compared to 18 years before. Oil dropped tremendously to 39% whereas natural gas jumped to 23 per cent also was coal (23%) and other renewables which rose to a percentage of 4. However, nuclear declined noticeably to 8% while hydro remained the same in both years.
