The chart illustrates the average daily minimum and maximum levels of two air pollutants: sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide, in four big cities, namely Los Angeles, Calcutta, Beijing and Mexico, in the year 2000
To begin with, the air pollution in Los Angeles was 1 of minimum sulphur dioxide,10 of maximum sulphur dioxide, whereas 39 of minimum nitrous oxide and 104 of maximum nitrous oxide. At the same time, Calcutta has witnessed 47 of minimum sulphur dioxide,59 of maximum sulphur dioxide, 30 of minimum nitrous oxide and 52 of maximum nitrous oxide.
In addition to air pollution of the city Bejing the minimum sulphur dioxide (SO2), maximum sulphur dioxide (SO2), minimum nitrous oxide (N2o) and maximum nitrous oxide (N2o) was 25, 130, 14 and 54, respectively. Compared to Mexico City was at 80,200,113 and 207 of minimum sulphur dioxide, maximum sulphur dioxide, minimum nitrous oxide and maximum nitrous oxide separately.
Overall, the city which was mostly suffering from air pollutants (sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide ) in 2000 was Mexico City, and the least sufferer was Los Angeles.
