Talk about an old person you know and respect

Sample Answer of Talk About an Old Person You Know and Respect

Elderly people are definitely an important part of all of our lives. The amount of experience and knowledge of life they have would always be second to none. One such person I know and thank god for having in my life is my Grandfather. That’s my mother’s father. His name is Mohammed, and he is now 79 years of age and lives in India. I have spent my entire childhood growing up around him. He was very strict, although he had reasons of his own to be that way. He has always been someone whom I look upon to learn many aspects of life. He came from a very poor background and educated himself on his own in a city like Mumbai, and tried to build a life for himself, which teaches me that hard work is a crucial and vital factor for making or breaking in life. He also took care of his young siblings, which showed me the true values of family and support. After toiling hard throughout his life, by the age of 60, he was one of the best Sound recording artists the Indian Film Industry ever had. He was also awarded the same. This taught me that with hard work, perseverance and honesty, there is nothing you cannot achieve in life. He used to narrate to me all these incidents to imbibe such values in me, and that is one of the main reasons why I respect and love him so much.

Follow-ups of Talk About an Old Person You Know and Respect

Question 1. What qualities does a person need to have to take care of old people?

Answer- I believe compassion and care are the most important factors which give you a sense of responsibility towards the elderly and make you take care and support them when needed. A person needs to be inclined towards his/her family values to understand the importance of old people in our nuclear families.

Question 2. Do you think old people should be taken care of at home?

Answer- Without a doubt, I feel that once you grow up and become capable and responsible enough, it should be your conscious and sincere effort to try and keep the older people with you at home, just like they kept us with them when we were kids.

Question 3. How can people in the neighbourhood help the elderly during an epidemic?

Answer- Calamities like epidemics are tough times when the elderly need our support the most. Neighbours could primarily ensure that the elderly are healthy and fit. If needed, they should provide them with the necessary medications. Occasional provision of food for them could really help to relieve the stress from their old shoulders. Also, keep a check on them if any kind of emergency occurs.

Question 4. Do you see this kind of help occurring in your neighbourhood?

Answer- Well, I would be on two sides with this opinion. I have mostly seen that in urban settlements, people often tend to mind their own business and do not care about their neighbours or surroundings. However, this is not the case in rural regions. I have seen on many occasions that people living close to an old couple take care of them just like their parents and provide them with emotional as well as physical support whenever needed.
